Membership

Free to catalogue. Patron for the people.

Your collection costs nothing to keep here. What you pay for, if you ever do, is the circle around it.

Free account

Catalogue everything you own, privately, for nothing.

  • An unlimited private catalogue — pieces, collections, photographs and provenance notes
  • Make any piece or collection public when you choose, and hide it again
  • Post in any subgroup: identification help, discussion, showcase, history and research
  • Comment, like, and follow the categories you care about
  • Ask for a possession badge, and take part in members-agree votes once verified

Patron

The trusted circle: the people, not the platform.

  • Everything in a free account
  • Private messages with other collectors
  • Friends, so a chosen few can see what the public cannot
  • Mark pieces open to sale or trade, and enquire about other people’s
  • Request and host in-person meet-ups and show-and-tells, once verified

Institution

For museums, societies and dealers. Arranged with us directly.

  • Everything a Patron has
  • An institutional profile rather than a personal one
  • Talk to us about what your collection needs

What it costs

Patina is in public beta and nothing is being charged yet. Patron access is granted by us for now, and we will say plainly what it costs, well before anyone is ever asked to pay.

Why a subscription and not a commission

A Patron subscription is the only thing Patina sells. Sales and trades between collectors are arranged privately, off Patina — we take no commission, process no payments, and handle no shipping.

It also means we have no reason to push you to sell. A platform paid on transactions eventually starts nudging; one paid by its members does not.
